Business Development Manager

We’re an established Brisbane-based manufacturing and steel fabrication company supporting mining, engineering, and industrial clients across QLD and Australia. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to take our mining‑sector and materials handling engagement to the next level. This role suits someone who understands the engineering/manufacturing world, knows their way around mine‑site procurement and maintenance teams, and can turn opportunities into long‑term relationships and repeat work. What You’ll Be Doing Building strong relationships with mine sites, maintenance managers, procurement teams, and project engineers Identifying new business opportunities in mining, maintenance, shutdowns, and engineered components Managing tenders, RFQs, proposals, and supplier onboarding Converting one‑off jobs into ongoing maintenance and fabrication contracts Working closely with our workshop/technical team to quote accurately and deliver on commitments Maintaining CRM pipeline, reporting on activity and forecasts Supporting business strategy with market insights What We’re Looking For Experience selling into mining , engineering , fabrication , or industrial sectors Strong technical understanding of steel fabrication, machining, general engineering , or similar Existing contacts or the ability to build relationships within the resources sector Proven B2B sales track record — tendering, pipelines, commercial negotiations A self‑starter who’s comfortable working in a small, hands‑on business environment Strong communication and relationship‑building skills Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to mine sites as required Why Join Us Growing, long established (39 years) locally‑owned engineering business with solid reputation Genuine autonomy and ability to influence the company’s direction Supportive, practical leadership team Competitive salary + bonuses based on performance Work that actually makes an impact — not corporate bureaucracy How to Apply If you’re a commercially minded BDM with mining or engineering experience — and you want to join a business where your work actually matters — we’d love to hear from you.
