About the role As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Assistant Superintendent Special Units contributes significantly to strategic leadership, direction and management of the Prison to ensure all statutory Departmental requirements and best practice service delivery standards are met. The Assistant Superintendent Special Units is responsible for the management and appropriate supervision of the Mental Health Unit, Multipurpose Management Unit, Health Centre Unit and prisoners with special needs requiring specialist placement. The Assistant Superintendent Special Units (ASSU) will be responsible for driving the case management process in the Mental Health Unit. Eligibility Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia. Qualifications – Possess and / or progress towards a relevant tertiary qualification within management or the criminal justice system or equivalent knowledge, skills and years of experience within a prison operational environment.
