About the Role We are looking for an enthusiastic, commercially‑minded Lawyer to join our dedicated Regulatory, Brand & Customer Experience legal team. This permanent in‑house role is based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and reports to the General Counsel – Brand & Customer Experience. You will manage the legal aspects of our trade agreements, product lifecycle, and customer experience across our group‑wide businesses (Dan Murphy’s, BWS, ALH Hotels, Pinnacle Drinks and Wineries). Key Focus Areas Trade Agreements: Expertly drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a high volume of commercial contracts, including: Vendor trading terms and merchandise agreements for our retail and hospitality businesses. Supply agreements for our Pinnacle own‑brand business and Wineries. Wholesale and international distribution agreements. Product Law & Compliance: Providing essential advice on product‑related matters, including: Quality Assurance (e.g., product recalls, testing, quality complaints). Sustainability initiatives, labelling, product claims, and the Food Standards Code. Proactive Partnering: Developing and delivering training, and implementing processes to streamline legal delivery in the above areas. Secondary Exposure & Development Where business capacity permits, you will also advise across other critical brand and customer areas—marketing, ACCC/Consumer Law matters, privacy, brand protection, loyalty programs, and digital initiatives. Qualifications 3‑6 Years Post‑Admission Experience (PQE) with a significant focus on relevant commercial legal areas. A current, unrestricted or supervised Australian Practising Certificate. Demonstrated expertise in autonomously drafting and negotiating commercial contracts. Experience or a strong willingness to upskill in competition and consumer law, digital, data, privacy, and brand. Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited Australian university. Desired Experience at a Top‑Tier firm or similar high‑quality training. Prior in‑house legal experience in a large and complex organization, preferably within the retail or hospitality sector. Benefits Flexible working in every sense.
