Senior Program Coordinator – Department of Health, Tasmania Role Summary: The Senior Program Coordinator role is within Healthy Communities, supporting statewide health equity initiatives and strategic frameworks for priority population groups. The team collaborates across the health system to provide leadership, specialist advice, coordinate projects, engage diverse stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide high‑level leadership, strategic advice and management of allocated operational outputs of Healthy Communities. Provide professional support and management to staff in Healthy Communities. Plan, implement and evaluate projects, programs and policies as required. Lead and coordinate the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of statewide projects, programmes, policy and strategic frameworks relevant to targeted priority population groups. Offer specialist and strategic advice on health equity and the needs of priority population groups to senior management, government departments and community service providers. Guide staff and stakeholders at all levels on health equity and priority population issues. Engage with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs and community providers, to deliver integrated and equitable outcomes. Drive quality improvement and innovation, strengthening population health outcomes and fostering cross‑team collaboration. Required Skills & Experience Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence at senior levels. Strategic planning and project management experience in public health or a related field. Expertise in health equity, priority populations and public sector frameworks. Experience coordinating statewide or large complex projects and evaluating outcomes. Collaboration and stakeholder engagement across multi‑sector health and community networks. On‑site work commitment (day worker) with flexible hours (76 hours per fortnight, negotiable). Appointment Details Fixed‑term full‑time day‑worker position until 19 October 2026, commencing as soon as possible. Working 76 hours per fortnight (hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant). For a period of twelve months from publication, this selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies. Salary and Benefits Annual salary: $128,102 – $134,832 (inclusive of 12% superannuation). Salary range aligns with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
