NSW Resources is seeking a strategic communications professional to lead a small team delivering high‑impact media and communications support for the Minister and the NSW Resources Division. About The Role This pivotal role delivers business‑critical media and communications support for the Minister and the Division. You’ll lead the development and execution of strategic media campaigns, internal communications, and stakeholder engagement initiatives that shape public understanding and support for NSW Resources’ policies and programs. As the central point of contact for communications, you’ll work closely with senior executives, the Minister’s Office, and external media to ensure consistent, timely, and impactful messaging across all channels. Key Responsibilities Manage a small team and lead the development and implementation of integrated media and communications strategies. Develop content across traditional, digital, and social media platforms. Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and collaborate across departments. Build and maintain strong relationships with media, government stakeholders, and internal teams. Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness and adapt strategies accordingly. Skills and Experience Required Strategic Communication Expertise: Proven ability to develop and deliver effective media strategies for complex issues. Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government, media, and internal teams. Leadership and Team Management: Experience leading and developing a team, fostering collaboration, and driving performance. Project Management: Strong project management skills and ability to deliver under pressure. Influence and Negotiation: Advanced influencing, negotiation, and consensus‑building abilities across diverse audiences. Communication Excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics. Digital and Media Savvy: Experience creating content for digital, social, and traditional media. Analytical Thinking: Ability to anticipate issues, analyse trends, and develop proactive communication responses.
