Senior Associate- Corporate and Commercial Salary: AUD - AUD per annum About Us Our client is a leading independent Australian law firm with a strong reputation across corporate and commercial law. On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Associate to join their Corporate & Commercial team in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded Partner leading the NSW branch of the China Desk and be involved in significant international and domestic M&A matters. Key Responsibilities Include: Advising on domestic and international corporate/M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting, and negotiating acquisition and disposal documents. Managing cross-border transactions, joint ventures, and foreign investment regulatory approvals (including FIRB). Advising on corporate governance, corporate restructuring, licensing, and general contracting arrangements. Collaborating with the Partner and senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters. Building strong client relationships with listed companies, insurers, financial institutions, private equity–backed businesses, capital providers, and large private companies. Supervising, mentoring, and supporting junior lawyers within the team. To Be Successful, You Will Have: Minimum 5 years’ post-admission experience in corporate & commercial law, ideally within a large national or international firm. Demonstrated expertise in M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting, and negotiating acquisition and disposal documents. Experience advising on corporate governance, restructuring, and regulatory approvals (including FIRB). Strong technical, analytical, and drafting skills with excellent attention to detail. Proven ability to manage complex domestic and international corporate matters while building strong client relationships. A collaborative, proactive approach with experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers. We are committed to diversity and an inclusive workforce.
