Manager Risk and Controls Commonwealth Bank Location : Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Do work that matters. Commonwealth Bank’s CommSec Division provides retail clients access to online broking and investment products, and geared solutions. CommSec’s purpose is to empower more Australians to grow their wealth, as Australia’s leading online broker. Our products include Equities, International Trading, Margin lending, Cash and Derivatives. Responsibilities Providing value to our customers by ensuring products and services are suitable, fair and transparent. Ensuring consistency, security, and reliability of service. Making our processes easy for customers to invest with us. Providing proactive and relevant support for customers with their investment needs. Ensuring sustainable compliance and regulatory obligations are met, and maintaining an enhanced control environment to operate within CommSec and BB’s risk appetite. On any given day you will report directly to the Chapter Lead for Product Line 1 Risk. Your role will focus on effective management of risks within CommSec’s Product Domain, including product design and distribution compliance, control design and testing, regulatory and policy change implementation, risk support for business change initiatives, incident and issue management, and root cause analysis. You will also support key projects and other day‑to‑day tasks as part of the Chapter or an aligned Pace squad to deliver overall business objectives. This is a position that allows flexible work arrangements. Qualifications Risk mindset – proactively identify and manage current and future risks. Pro‑active self‑starter with strong analytical, problem‑solving, attention to detail, communication and influencing skills. Experience in financial services with knowledge of regulatory landscape and operational risk management principles. Demonstrated time‑management skills to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives. Proven ability to achieve results with a track record of performance. Demonstrated interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
