About the role The HSP/RISE Senior Manager leads a team responsible for delivery, improvement and engagement activities for Aurora's High School Program (HSP) and Redefining Indigenous Definitions of Success in Education (RISE) project to support Indigenous high‑school students. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, people management and project management skills are required to drive successful outcomes. The Senior Manager collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives. Responsibilities Define a long‑term vision for the HSP and RISE project in alignment with external factors and internal resources. Lead the development of program strategies, objectives and plans in alignment with organisational goals. Define program scope, goals, deliverables and resource requirements, establishing clear timelines and milestones. Coach and empower team members to develop and focus their strengths to achieve program outcomes. Conduct thorough needs assessments, stakeholder analysis and risk assessments to inform program design and implementation. Provide leadership and direction to program staff, creating a supportive, positive and engaging work environment that promotes Indigenous leadership opportunities. Manage team motivation, engagement and performance to align with program goals and ensure KPIs are met. Direct and oversee the execution of program activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines and budgets. Establish and refine quality assurance processes and standards to ensure deliverables meet or exceed stakeholder expectations; monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies. Lead the co‑design and implementation of innovative solutions that improve participant and stakeholder experience. Plan and manage budgets in alignment with Aurora's strategy, program plans and available resources. Lead regular reviews and evaluations of program performance, soliciting feedback and implementing improvements as needed. Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on evaluation findings and best practices in program management. Lead by example promoting Aurora's values and cultural safety. Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and the issues facing Indigenous people in Australia. Promote cultural, psychological and child safety and an inclusive supportive environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate across teams. Ability to balance direction and initiative. Bachelor's degree in education, project management or a related field or equivalent experience. 5+ years of senior leadership experience, leading Program and Engagement Managers.
