Payroll Officer

Join our Payroll team to ensure timely, accurate, and confidential payroll administration, adhering to policies and State / Federal legislation WFH two days per week Variety of career development opportunities Discounts on insurance products, retail outlets and gyms The role Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end processing of high‑volume fortnightly payrolls. Working as part of the Payroll team in the People Services department, I am required to administer payroll for employees of Auto General groups in compliance with all policies procedures and state federal legislation. Key Responsibilities Accurate and efficient processing of high‑volume payrolls Maintain and check employee and payroll data (e.g. allowances, deductions, leave) Respond to payroll‑related queries and resolve discrepancies Process placement movements, pay increases, and termination payments Produce fortnightly and monthly reports Collaborate with HR on appointments, terminations, and employment conditions Ensure compliance with State and Federal legislation Identify and elevate compliance issues or opportunities to improve processes What experience you'll bring Essential : Minimum 2 years' payroll experience in a complex environment. Had exposure to interpreting Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and HR policies. Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and time management. Excellent verbal and written communication. Understanding of payroll legislation, compliance, superannuation, and tax obligations. Desirable : Intermediate MS Office skills, Aurion experience.
