Northern Health We are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Mental Health Clinician to join Noogal Clinic in the Acute Crisis Intervention Services team. About Northern Health Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role Do you have experience as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist (Seeking candidate for registrar program), Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Social Worker? Apply NOW In this role you will provide timely comprehensive recovery-oriented assessment and community-based interventions, care and interventions in collaboration with consumers /carers/families. You will closely work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right assessment has been provided to consumers. Use your well-developed skills in writing and an ability to promptly prepare the appropriate documentation for assessments, treatment plans, transition summaries and other forms of documentation. Participate in discipline-specific clinical supervision and workload management. This will include attendance and participation at clinical review and other reflective spaces. Participate in ongoing professional development activities and in-service training and share new experiences with the wider team. The Clinician will be supported to utilise their discipline-specific skills within their work and will have an active role in clinical review discussions, treating team reviews, completing relevant documentation and participating in ongoing professional development. There is the option of portfolio/special interest work depending on clinician expertise/interest and needs of the team. This role is a part time ongoing position based in Mill Park location. About you Extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability. Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with consumers who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with consumers, families/carers, colleagues and other service providers. Ability to work with consumers, family and carers from a range of cultural backgrounds, and to provide gender sensitive services.
