Overview Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Structural Engineering at QUT, located at Gardens Point. This ongoing, full-time position is offered within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The role provides leadership in both research and teaching within Structural Engineering, with focus areas such as smart materials and their structural applications, smart concrete, and sustainable construction materials. The role involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team of academics, research fellows, graduate students and industry partners, and includes fundamental and applied research, fellowship and grant submissions, and publications. The position is offered as a hybrid arrangement as part of QUT’s commitment to a more virtual and connected world. Remuneration: AUD $134,910 to $160,222 (LEVB) or AUD $165,273 to $190,593 per annum (LEVC); inclusive salary p.a. ranges: AUD $114,000 to $135,390 (LEVB) or AUD $139,657 to $161,054 (LEVC); 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading. Location: Gardens Point. Reference number: 25582. Responsibilities Provide leadership in research and teaching within the discipline of Structural Engineering, including areas such as smart materials, smart concrete and sustainable construction materials. Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team of academics, research fellows, graduate students and industry partners. Participate in fundamental and applied research, fellowship submissions, grant funding submissions and publications. Contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture and engage with industry to realise opportunities for teaching and research. Qualifications Completion of a doctoral qualification with experience in structural engineering aspects of civil engineering or a closely related field. Demonstrated research leadership in structural engineering, including a track record of securing grants, publishing in high-quality journals and top-tier conferences, and engaging with industry. Proven ability in teaching and learning, with the capability to teach in undergraduate and postgraduate civil engineering courses. Strong interpersonal skills to develop internal and external partnerships and extend best practice in teaching and research. Proven ability to contribute to a high-performance, collaborative culture with a strategic, adaptive, and future-focused approach to delivering impact.
