Position Overview As a Printing Team Member at Filton Packaging, you will be responsible for operating printing machines and supporting the printing process to produce accurate and visually appealing designs on flexible packaging materials. Your attention to detail, technical skills, and dedication to quality will contribute significantly to the successful production of our packaging products. Responsibilities Printing Operations: Operate printing machines to apply designs, logos, and artwork onto flexible packaging materials, ensuring consistent and high-quality prints. Setup and Preparation: Assist in the setup and preparation of printing equipment for production runs, including loading printing plates, adjusting print settings, and selecting appropriate inks. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on printed materials to verify colour accuracy, print clarity, and overall print quality, ensuring compliance with customer specifications. Material Handling: Ensure a steady supply of printing materials, such as films and ink, to support continuous printing operations. Maintenance Support: Assist with routine maintenance tasks on printing machines, such as cleaning and changing ink, to ensure optimal machine performance. Production Support: Work collaboratively with the Printing Team Leader and other team members to meet daily production targets and contribute to an efficient workflow. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor. Documentation: Record production data, material specifications, and any adjustments made during the printing process for accurate production reporting. Problem-Solving: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues related to the printing process, supporting corrective actions to minimise downtime. Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives, providing valuable input to enhance production efficiency and print quality. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certifications in printing or related fields are advantageous. Previous experience in a printing or manufacturing environment is preferred, but not mandatory. Basic understanding of operating and adjusting printing machines for accurate and consistent prints. Knowledge of colour management and print quality control techniques is a plus. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools for equipment adjustments and minor repairs. Carefully follow instructions, quality standards, and safety guidelines to produce precise prints on flexible packaging materials. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move materials and perform physically demanding tasks. Collaborate effectively with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain a positive work environment. Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing production requirements. Comply with safety rules and regulations, prioritise safety in all tasks, and report any safety concerns promptly. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
