Total Annual Remuneration (base + super) $140,000+; 9-day fortnight policy and salary packaging availableWho is Tandem?Tandem has been the voice for Victorians supporting those with mental health challenges for over 30 years. As the only Victorian peak body dedicated solely to advocating for families, carers, and supporters, we work to build a mental health system that values significant relationships and supports the carer lived experience workforce. Our approach is rooted in partnership and co-design, ensuring that our advocacy reflects the collaborative efforts of our community.What will the General Manager do?As the General Manager – Advocacy, Research & Insights, and a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with the CEO to:Lead the development and execution of Tandem’s advocacy and research strategies, emphasising co-design and collaborative approaches with our community and stakeholders.Oversee research projects that integrate diverse data sources, including academic insights and real-time service feedback, to drive policy improvements.Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, mental health organisations, and community leaders, fostering a cooperative and inclusive approach.Champion initiatives that ensure the needs of families, carers, and supporters are central in public policy discussions - embodying our commitment to community-driven change.Drive strategic vision and operational excellence across the organisation, setting a tone of resource sharing and flexibility across different portfolios.What makes me ideal for this role?You have lived or living experience as a family member, carer, supporter, or kin.You have a postgraduate degree in public policy, advocacy, health, or related fields, complemented by extensive experience in mental health advocacy or social services.Your leadership is marked by a strong ability to engage in co-design, inviting and integrating diverse viewpoints, and embodying collaboration in how Tandem advances improvement in Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing outcomes for all.You have a proven ability to lead large-scale research and advocacy initiatives, with a strong focus on creating systemic change.Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills enable you to forge impactful partnerships and lead diverse teams effectively.Your strategic thinking aligns with Tandem’s mission, leveraging both your professional expertise and a deep commitment to the community.Why should I work for Tandem?Joining Tandem means more than just having a job.
