Our client specialises in the production of high-quality welded mesh and custom steel products for industrial, construction, and commercial applications. Position – Production Manager (Manufacturing) Location – Pakenham, Victoria Salary - $95,000 - $105,000 plus superannuation per annum Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent THE ROLE : This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations, drive production efficiency, and ensure high-quality output. This role is responsible for coordinating staff, managing workflow, improving processes, and ensuring production targets are consistently met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE : Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer orders and delivery expectations. Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resource allocation across production lines. Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure products meet industry and company standards, identify and address defects, production issues, and process inconsistencies where necessary. Implement continuous improvement initiatives, such as optimization of machinery use, improved work practices, and streamlined production methods. Work within operational budgets and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality. Supervise, mentor, and support production team members, and coordinate staff training, skill development, and adherence to operational procedures. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to support production needs. Prepare production reports on performance, efficiency, downtime, and quality outcomes. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety legislation and industry regulations. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR : Relevant qualification, such as a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management (or agreed equivalent). Proven experience as a Production Manager of at least 3 years (preferably more) in a manufacturing production environment, ideally in metal or industrial product lines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse operational data. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production teams. Solid understanding of Australian WHS, quality assurance, and compliance standards. Excellent organizational and communication skills. You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
