Overview The vibe New North Sydney office (Harbour views) Monday to Friday standard hours with the occasional project push Inclusive culture built around collaboration innovation and results Work alongside a respected Australian business in construction A role with influence ownership and the opportunity to modernise IT systems Were partnering with Hindmarsh to find an IT Manager who will provide leadership across IT operations systems and infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role where youll guide the IT team strengthen security and ensure the technology environment supports Hindmarshs diverse operations across Australia. You wont just be an IT Manager youll be a business enabler. What you'll be doing Overseeing IT operations including monitoring patching and system security Ensuring servers hardware backups and line-of-business systems run at peak performance Managing network infrastructure : routers switches VPN SDWAN Firewalls (Cisco FortiGate Palo Alto Ubiquiti) and 4G / 5G connectivity Leading and mentoring ICT Support Engineers ensuring smooth onboarding / offboarding and strong endpoint security Managing vendors contracts and billing lifecycles while maintaining key relationships Delivering infrastructure upgrade projects and supporting site office IT setups Administering Microsoft 365 Azure / Entra ID Active Directory VMware SQL Server MySQL and Apache Maintaining enterprise storage arrays (Dell EMC) VoIP systems and video conferencing tools Improving system integration and data accessibility for business teams Strengthening cybersecurity posture through Essential Eight alignment and regular vulnerability assessments Driving backup and disaster recovery practices (Veeam Commvault Zerto) What we're looking for You dont need to tick every box - curiosity leadership and problem-solving matter most. 6 years in IT Leadership or Lead Engineering roles Strong experience in customer-facing IT support environments Demonstrated ability to mentor coach and build IT teams Proven technical depth across Windows Server SQL VMware Microsoft 365 Azure / Entra ID Networking expertise across WAN / LAN firewalls SDWAN and connectivity (Cradlepoint exposure advantageous) Experience in system security identity modernisation and backup / recovery systems Strong vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred) Why this role This is your chance to step into a leadership position with real scope : guiding a capable IT team modernising environments and ensuring technology empowers Hindmarshs people and projects.
