The Role The Housing Services Officer role is a client facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program and plays a vital role in supporting client-centred services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing. Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance. Accountabilities Assess client's needs and provide comprehensive advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards. Make appropriate referrals to internal or external support service providers to assist clients with their housing needs. Prepare routine cases with well-established procedures and represent the department at tribunals. Requirements Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process. Preferred candidates will be required to complete pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening. Applicants are required to submit a CV and Cover Letter (max 2 pages) outlining their suitability to the role in line with the Key Selection Criteria.
