Department of Families, Fairness & Housing VIC – Bendigo VIC The Tenancy and Property Officer role is a client‑facing position that supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program. It plays a vital role in providing client‑centred services to individuals and families seeking housing assistance or residing in public housing. Tenancy and Property Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility of working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks related to tenancy and property management, and the provision of housing advice and assistance. Tenancy and Property Officers at Classification 2 are fully competent across the assigned housing functions and apply well‑developed skills in all areas. They may be required to serve as a local reference point in processes and procedures for less experienced staff and work in an environment under general supervision. Accountabilities Assess client needs and provide advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards. Prepare routine cases with well established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT). Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.
