Position Overview Join to apply for the Nurse Unit Manager - Neurology Rehab role at South Metropolitan Health Service . This is a permanent full‑time appointment of 76 hours per fortnight. South Metropolitan Health Service is a 783‑bed tertiary hospital offering a range of health services including rehabilitation, cancer, mental health, maternity, paediatric, neonatal and other specialised services across a 3300 km² catchment area. Position Description The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for leading and managing Nursing/Midwifery and Assistants in Nursing staff to deliver evidence‑based care using allocated resources, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The role directly improves and maintains standards, develops solutions and delivers outcomes consistent with service and organisational imperatives. As a key leader in the interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Unit Manager ensures that the unit meets the requirement for delivery of a patient‑centred service against key performance indicators: quality, budget and human resource. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage nursing staff to deliver evidence‑based care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Improve and maintain standards, develop solutions and deliver outcomes aligned with service and organisational targets. Ensure the unit meets key performance indicators for quality, budget and human resource management. Provide consultation and liaison service within area of expertise to internal and external customers. Eligibility and Requirements Applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold a visa that allows indefinite residence and work in Australia, or have a valid working visa for fixed‑term appointments.
