Slab Culture is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Hand to join our small team in Albury, NSW. As our Workshop Lead Hand, you will play a role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing facility, overseeing a small team of people. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and excellent benefits. What you'll be doing Production Leadership: Run day‑to‑day operations, task delegation, and team efficiency. Concrete: Oversee the pouring, polishing, and sealing of GFRC concrete, ensuring the finish meets our premium standards. No prior experience required with concrete, we’ll teach you the process. Cabinetry Oversight: Lead the assembly of cabinetry and all associated components. Quality & Efficiency: Be the final word on quality control. You are responsible for the speed and standard of every build. Bridge to Installation: Collaborate with the installation team to ensure jobs are "install-ready" before leaving the shed. On occasion, you’ll jump out to the site to assist on complex installs. What we're looking for Significant experience (5+ years) in a similar lead hand or supervisory role within a workshop or manufacturing environment. Strong technical skills and expertise in building trades, with the ability to perform a range of hands‑on tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a small team. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. A positive, proactive attitude and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work. What we offer Great Equipment: Access to a panel saw, forklift, and full dust extraction. Climate controlled air‑conditioned and heated shed. Hours: Consistent work hours at the same central location every day. 8 - 4.30 Monday - Friday. Tools & Transport: All major tools provided (just bring your personal hand tools).
