With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia, part of the ASX200 index, and having raised approximately $250 million in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing a hyper‑growth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications—from battlefield to terrorism, contraband delivery and commercial espionage. This role is based in DroneShield’s Sydney headquarters in the CBD. The facility currently hosts roughly 380 staff and is scheduled to expand to about 500 by the end of 2026. DroneShield also maintains a global presence in locations such as Virginia (USA), Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico, Dubai and distributors in over 70 countries. About the role We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Engineering team. The team is passionately focused on helping our internal customers, particularly our machine learning and AI teams, interface with our rich data services using robust and performant APIs, data pipelines and front‑end interfaces. Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations Process and deliver data from the field to a team of AI/ML Engineers Ensure the collected data is of high quality and error free Automate data delivery pipelines and workflows Perform quality checks and generate metrics from field data Build new features and capabilities in a complex AI microservices and MLOps environment Take operational responsibility for the services and codebase developed Perform ad‑hoc analysis on large datasets Collaborate with other engineers and designers across AI, front‑end and back‑end teams Write and review code with best practices of readability, testing, documentation, reliability, security and performance in mind Develop with an Agile mindset, constantly searching for ways to improve process efficiency Qualifications, Experience and Skills BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Between 3‑5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer Experience writing high‑quality Python code for data analysis and/or data engineering Strong experience in SQL Experience with Dagster, dbt or equivalent tooling Familiar with Docker, GitLab, Kubernetes Experience working in Linux environments Note for recruitment agencies: We do not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters unless specifically instructed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
