Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Worker - Mayfield San Clemente Catholic College, Mayfield, is seeking a temporary part‑time (0.3 FTE) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Worker to join in 2026. The role focuses on supporting students, teachers, and the wider school community in culture, spirituality, wellbeing and engagement. You’ll play a vital part in promoting the Diocese of Maitland‑Newcastle’s Reconciliation Action Plan – Reflect and in strengthening connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. Days of work are to be confirmed and can be negotiated with the successful applicant. Experience & Criteria Demonstrated experience and expertise working in educational settings with a focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. Established and ongoing links with the local and/or wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in an educational setting. Qualifications and/or experience relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education and/or cultural settings, including knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contemporary educational issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Qualifications Being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational qualification for this position (desirable). Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable). Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence (desirable). Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category A – Accreditation to Work. Conditions of Employment Salary is in accordance with the New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
