Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Teacher – Mayfield St Dominic's Catholic College Mayfield is seeking a Permanent Part Time (0.2 FTE) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Teacher to start January 2026. Location: Mayfield, New South Wales (15 min from Newcastle CBD). Employment type: Permanent – Part Time. Job Description The role involves supporting students and school communities in curriculum, culture, spirituality, learning, and wellbeing. The teacher shares responsibility for the Catholic identity and mission, promotes the Diocese's Reconciliation Action Plan, and works with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Key responsibilities: Design and implement Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Collaborate with classroom teachers, curriculum, wellbeing, ministry, and learning support teams. Advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the school. Apply assessment data to support educational outcomes for Indigenous students. Experience and Criteria Four‑year teacher training and active NESA accreditation. Current Working with Children Check, Senior First Aid Certificate, and Class C driver licence. Experience with specialised setting or students with diverse learning needs. Established links with Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander community. Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education (for classes beyond primary). Completion of anaphylaxis training. Willingness to comply with CSO accreditation (Category B/D). Conditions of Employment Salary per NSW & ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
