Senior Assistant Accountant SG Fleet AU is seeking an experienced Senior Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for processing bank receipts and supplier invoice payments, performing general ledger and bank account reconciliations, and supporting Aftermarket Sales accounting activities. The position also assists the Accountant / Senior Accountant with month‑end close processes and contributes to meeting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to reporting packs required by the Leadership Team. Tasks And Responsibilities Processing payments (Maintenance, Dealer, Rego, Driver, Overheads) and allocating funds Processing bank receipts, client invoices, supplier invoices and coding the issuing of payments in settlement of supplier invoices (including Aftermarket) Reconciliation of debtors and creditors accounts; attend to internal and external enquiries regarding accounts (including Aftermarket) Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank accounts Prepare BAS / GST returns Assist accountant with daily and month‑end processing, reconciliation and reporting as required Assist supervisor and manager with miscellaneous financial projects Ad‑hoc reporting and other tasks as required by the Supervisor / Manager Perform accuracy / completeness / sanity checks on accounts regularly Assist finance team to achieve the team deadlines on reporting requirements from internal / external stakeholders Perform trend analysis Assist Financial Controller with miscellaneous financial projects Skills And Experience Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or equivalent qualifications such as CPA / CA Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire a high‑performance team Customer Service focused Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to analyse and streamline processes Strong organisational and prioritisation skills for effective time management Can resolve problems to completion in a timely and effective manner Ability to motivate and lead others to meet departmental KPIs Ability to share knowledge and coach others Business acumen and commercial awareness; prior leasing / fleet management experience is ideal About You High integrity and strong understanding of professional ethics Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with good listening and probing skills Creates teamwork, is flexible, and maintains an organised, open, and approachable working style Actively creates useful internal, external, and cross‑functional relationships Ability to develop relationships across all levels of the organisation High level of initiative and ability to continually identify and address opportunities for improvement High level of motivation, energy, and drive to achieve Who we are We are a financial services company that specialises in fleet management, vehicle leasing and salary packaging, with a presence across Australia, the UK and NZ.
