Volunteer with your pet and Make a difference to someone's life in the Hunter Spread Joy by joining our Volunteer Team Bring along your good‑natured pet and spend time chatting with people living in their own homes who may be lonely or socially isolated. You’ll see what a difference your furry friend can make. This role will suit you if you have a small‑medium sized pet and you’re happy to sit and engage in conversation. Roles across Newcastle and Hunter region – Broadmeadow, Belmont, Mereweather, New Lambton, Cardiff, Hamilton, Mayfield and surrounding areas. Pet requirements Calm and gentle in nature Up‑to‑date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas Nails should be short and blunt Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for you. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in need. Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: We’d be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. Training: Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator.
