Premium & Services Insights Manager – icare NSW Location: Sydney CBD – the team works in a hybrid environment, with a core office in Sydney CBD. Summary: You will provide insights and reporting to support pricing and product strategy for the NSW Workers Compensation schemes (NI & TMF). Your analyses will help inform premium setting, product design, and service operations improvement initiatives, ensuring scheme affordability and fair outcomes for all stakeholders. Perform complex data modelling, loss ratio analysis and trend interpretation to inform product development and premium‑setting initiatives. Develop scenario testing, predictive modelling and contingency analysis to support Premium & Employer Services teams in evaluating pricing models, assumptions, and price filings to regulators. Coordinate data and technical pricing models to enhance pricing algorithms and employer outcomes. Establish and maintain robust reporting & insights frameworks for underwriting operational functions to ensure transparency, consistency and accessibility of information. Provide strategic advice and support to Premium & Employer Services and Service Operations on portfolio performance, risk trends and improvement opportunities. Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to embed insights into pricing and product strategies. Lead, develop and mentor team members – whether through direct or indirect reporting – to build a high‑performing analytical capability with strong technical, interpretive and storytelling skills. Collaborate closely with the Scheme Performance & Insights Manager and Contract Insights Manager to align pricing and product insights with broader scheme performance, operational trends and strategic initiatives. Skills & Experience Comprehensive understanding of underwriting principles and practices and strong knowledge of the workers’ compensation insurance industry and regulatory environment. Experience supporting pricing strategy, premium modelling, product design or product performance initiatives. Extensive experience analysing data, identifying and presenting insights to inform strategy and decision making. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel. Advanced knowledge in SAS or SQL – essential. Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in relevant fields.
