Nurse Unit Manager - Lower West Ward (Williamstown) Location: Williamstown Hospital - Lower West Ward Employment Type: Ongoing, Full Time Salary: NUM Level 2 (NM11) + Superannuation + Salary Packaging About the role Western Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Nurse leader to take on the role of Nurse Unit Manager of Lower West Ward (LWW) at Williamstown Hospital. LWW is a combined Surgical Ward and Day procedure Unit that cares for patients who have undergone a broad range of Surgical conditions within the Orthopaedic, Urology, ENT and General Surgical units. The Unit prides itself on its supportive, collaborative environment and has a strong focus on achieving positive patient outcomes and experiences. Through visible and accessible leadership, the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is at the forefront of providing care that is underpinned by right, safe, coordinated and high quality nursing consumer centred care. The role is responsible for the operational, professional and clinical service management of their staff and resources. The NUM will achieve this through the development of effective partnerships, leadership and management of all nursing staff and resources, within a multidisciplinary team environment. Key responsibilities Leadership – establish and maintain a strong leadership presence and promote unit/ward excellence Clinical Expertise – optimise consumer experiences, outcomes and safety through effective use of clinical indicators Education & Learning – promote a culture of learning & innovation within the unit by acting as a clinical nurse lead & mentor that encourages education of all team members Evidence based practice – comply with organisational policies, procedures and guidelines and drive quality care with an expectation of improving clinical and consumer outcomes Operational – meet Western Health financial and workforce key performance indicators About you Hold AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Have Post Graduate qualification and/or minimum 5 years relevant Surgical experience Demonstrate leadership experience and excellent clinical and organisational skills Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrate commitment to high quality, safe and person centred care.
