What You’ll Be Doing Carrying out routine maintenance of village grounds and gardens, including light gardening and occasional small‑area mowing (with most mowing completed by contractors). Looking after plant care such as watering, mulching, pruning, propagation and removal. Cleaning external village areas including patios, verandas, outdoor furniture, pathways and windows. Managing rubbish bins and maintaining shared outdoor areas such as veggie gardens and bowling greens. Completing minor repairs and general upkeep across buildings and shared spaces. Operating and maintaining equipment safely and effectively. Responding promptly to urgent or safety‑related maintenance requests. Building friendly, professional relationships with residents, families and staff, and supporting village events. Escalating any concerns or complaints appropriately. Providing occasional relief driving of the village van to support residents when needed. Why This Role Matters The work has an immediate and visible impact on residents’ daily experience. Essential Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in gardening or grounds maintenance. Excellent customer service and a friendly, approachable manner. Good physical fitness (ability to lift/move up to 15 kg). Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and use sound judgement. Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Desirable Experience in retirement living, aged care, land lease communities, councils or schools. A valid driver’s licence and willingness to drive a 12‑seater bus if required.
