Sporty Male NDIS Support Worker / Mentor – Teen Boys Lake Macquarie / Newcastle Love sport, follow the Premier League, and want to actually make a dent in young guys’ lives? Adaptive Aid Solutions is a small, fit‑and‑friendly NDIS provider. We help teens and young adults turn their funding into real‑world wins: getting out of the house, going to the gym, playing sport, building confidence and routine. The role You’ll be working mostly 1:1 with teen and young adult male NDIS participants, doing things like: Playing soccer, basketball, footy, going to the gym Outings: movies, arcade, beach, bushwalks, cafés Building routines around sleep, food, hygiene, school/TAFE/work Mentoring: listening, encouraging, modelling good choices Supporting complex behaviours and big emotions in a calm, safe way Taking basic session notes and communicating with the team and families This is not a sit‑on‑the‑couch role. You’ll be moving, a lot. Who this is perfect for You’re in your 20s, live around Lake Mac / Newcastle, and you’re seriously active You play sport (or gym) multiple times a week and can keep up physically You follow the Premier League or are happy to get into it You’re patient, emotionally steady, and don’t take things personally You like the idea of mentoring, not just “babysitting” You’re coachable and happy to learn how we do things, then run with it You can adapt your style: gentle when needed, firm but kind with boundaries Must‑haves Legal right to work in Australia Driver’s licence + reliable car Working With Children Check (or willing to get it ASAP) NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to get it ASAP) Comfortable with complex behaviours and mental health challenges Able to work a mix of after‑school hours and some weekends Willing to commit to at least 6–12 months with clients (they need consistency) Previous NDIS / youth work / disability experience is ideal but not essential if you’re the right person and willing to learn fast.
