URGENT HELP NEEDED: Bicycle Mechanic Volunteer Open House is a small charity organisation that has been serving the community for over 50 years. As a not for profit organisation, we depend on volunteers to help us in the delivery of our services. We seek volunteers who are kind and caring and committed to our mission of giving long-term friendship and support to young people and adults in our community, particularly those who are disadvantaged or socially isolated. The Program The position of Bicycle Repair and Maintenance Volunteer is based at our Macleod premises, with some support at the Bike Hut at Malahang Reserve in West Heidelberg if suitable. We receive donated bikes, which are then repaired, serviced, and given to people in need in our community. It involves working independently at times and with other like-minded people. We are looking for people who are punctual, reliable and who enjoy sharing skills, creating a positive environment and role‑modeling wholesome values. Responsibilities Repair, check, and fix bikes following Open House standards Check order book and source appropriate bikes from our stock for repair Service bikes on time for community members Record work done on bikes and update the inventory of the workshop Keep all benches and workshop clean Provide feedback and advice about bicycles Identify bikes beyond repair, strip serviceable parts and scrap as required Category Community Services Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work Trades & Maintenance Time Required The shifts available are on Thursdays from 9am to 1pm (may be negotiable). #J-18808-Ljbffr
