About the role Rugby World Cup Australia is excited to announce we are seeking a Senior Accreditation Manager to join our Sydney team Reporting to the General Manager of Tournament Services, this role leads the entire accreditation program for RWC 2027, managing the end-to-end process in the World Rugby TMS system, developing venue access plans, and overseeing accreditation centres across all host cities. It covers everything from accreditation consumables and stock control to visa and immigration support, working closely with the Department of Home Affairs. The position also manages budgets, recruits and leads the accreditation team, and delivers all operational documentation. During the tournament, it oversees issue resolution, reporting, and key milestones, working collaboratively with World Rugby, the LOC, and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure a safe, efficient and world-class accreditation operation. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Utilising the Tournament Management System (TMS), implement and deliver the accreditation system for the tournament that enables accredited personnel to access tournament venues and spaces to allow them to perform their operational duties Working in line with World Rugby’s accreditation framework as well as key internal stakeholders, lead on the development of an agreed zone matrix plan for all accredited venues and appropriate access rights for all client groups and tournament participants Oversee the accreditation centre operations across all host cities to ensure that accredited personnel can obtain accreditation devices in the most practical, efficient and safest way possible Develop requirements, select and manage supply of Accreditation consumables Manage the accreditation consumable stock management for all accreditation centres Oversee the relationship with the Department of Home Affairs in relation to Tournament Visa Support for designated tournament participants Manage all visa and immigration support for tournament participants Oversee and manage the Accreditation budget, ensuring it is managed in line with agreed forecasts Oversee the recruitment and management of the Accreditation team including tournament time operational staff and provide leadership to deliver a world-class operation Lead the development and delivery of training and competency of Accreditation staff and contractors Development of all necessary documentation on time and to the required high standard, such as the Functional Area Operating Plan, policies, procedures and contingency plans Monitor and manage milestones outlined in the tournament masterplan, ensuring all elements are met on time and to the desired standard, with risks identified and mitigated against Attend operational planning site visits as and when required Issue reporting, management and resolution during the tournament Qualifications & Experience 7–10 years’ experience in event operations, accreditation, tournament services, or similar roles, with proven success delivering comparable operational requirements. Major sporting event experience within Australia is highly regarded. Experience managing or leading complex projects end-to-end, from strategic direction through to operational planning and delivery. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to quickly connect with colleagues and diverse stakeholders. Stakeholder management experience, demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared outcomes. Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate teams, build capability, and contribute to a positive organisational culture. Meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while staying calm under pressure. Adept at working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, consistently delivering to deadlines and honouring commitments. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event operations. Experience working in international or multicultural environments ideally 2+ years or via major global event involvement.
