Our client, MEQ’s mission is to revolutionise the animal protein industry, with a specialisation in red meat. They provide cutting-edge solutions that harness early, objective data, benefiting everyone from breeders to consumers. Currently, their portfolio includes four primary innovative technical solutions: MEQ Live, MEQ Probe, MEQ Insights, and MEQ Camera. Their primary focus is on live cattle and carcass evaluation in the Sheep and Beef sectors. These innovative technologies enable the application and utilisation of data to unlock new customer value. Through their solutions, they are transforming the red meat industry and building a more sustainable future, fostering a transparent and nutritionally rich red meat sector for both businesses and consumers. About the Role: This newly created role is based remotely, with a preference for candidates based in Queensland. The role reports directly to the Head of Sales - ANZ and is ideal for a driven and strategic business development professional. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in expanding MEQ's footprint within the red meat industry. This position focuses on identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and developing relationships with both existing and prospective clients. As a self-driven individual contributor, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to closing deals. Additionally, you will be involved in developing tailored sales strategies and supporting the sales team with strategic insights to position MEQ's cutting-edge products in the market. You will also play a key role in nurturing long-term client relationships to ensure continued satisfaction and growth. Key responsibilities of the role include: Identifying and engaging potential clients, generating leads, and driving new business opportunities. Conducting market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities. Presenting MEQ's products and services to prospective clients, effectively communicating the value proposition. Developing and executing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. Managing and growing a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring accurate reporting. Leading contract negotiations, closing deals, and maintaining positive client relationships. Analysing sales data and performance metrics to improve efficiency and track success. Representing MEQ at industry events and customer meetings, ensuring the company is recognized as an industry leader. About You: 2+ years of proven success in business development, preferably within a startup or scale-up environment. Experience selling technical solutions or software, with an understanding of the sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure. A results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with various stakeholders and negotiate effectively. Confident in analysing data to identify key insights and effectively distilling key information to present to clients. Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) for lead management and tracking sales performance. A passion for the red meat industry, with a desire to learn and contribute to MEQ's growth.
