Key Details Salary: $82,922 – $92,203 per annum plus 17% superannuation. Contract: Full-time fixed term, 7 months with possible extension. Location: Industrial Transformation Training Centre, University of Adelaide. About the Role Laboratory Officer – liaison between regulatory bodies to ensure faculty compliance. Key Responsibilities Liaise with the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator and the UoA Institutional Biosafety Committee to ensure compliance with OGTR licences. Assist with ITTC audits, monitoring and record‑keeping for GMO activities, and formulate reports. Assist in growing and monitoring donor plant material and primary transgenic plants; support the Postdoctoral Research Fellow with plant transformations. Provide compliance and stewardship advice to staff and students at the Training Centre UoA node. Work with government, industry and university partners to drive the transfer of research into industry outcomes. Qualifications & Experience Sound knowledge of biosafety legislation, OGTR requirements, GM stewardship programmes and the Biosecurity Act. Experience generating and growing GMO or genome‑edited crop plants. Experience growing plants under field conditions. Experience working with university academics and research staff to meet regulatory requirements. Experience maintaining record‑management systems.
