Event Coordinator / Operations Assistant OBK What does the role involve? Assist in welcoming and ushering individual volunteers and corporate group attendees around the kitchen Extend help in setting up the tables and chairs and other paraphernalia and tools Help volunteers and attendees sign up upon arrival and giving out name tags Assist volunteering corporate group attendees in the next steps of their activity Help individual volunteers identifying their next task Support the operations manager and other employees during the events with small tasks What benefits can I gain from the experience? Currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Events, Administration or any related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace. Good Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of people and provide guidance and assistance as needed. Organization: Keen eye on people and to their possible need Critical Thinking: Analyse situations and strategically approach each Adaptability and Willingness to learn: Openness to accept constructive feedback and adjust accordingly Time Management: Use time effectively, maximizing it to complete the tasks at hand Required: valid Work With Children Check certificate Dress Code Attire: Closed shoes are mandatory for all personnel. For safety reasons, we recommend long pants and a top with covered shoulders. No tight fitting clothes such as leggings or yoga pants. On warmer days, shorts and sleeveless attire are acceptable, as long as they are not overly revealing. Headgear: If you are entering the kitchen, a cap must be worn for food safety compliance. Hairnets are provided by George, or you can bring your own cap. Jewelry: Avoid wearing any type of jewelry, fake nails, or accessories that may pose a safety risk when entering the kitchen. Category Homeless Commitment Regular - less than 6 months Type Of Work Administration & Office Management, Companionship & Social Support, Food Preparation & Service Time Required Schedule depends on the availability of the Intern/volunteer and the slots available. The 15 hour maximum per week will be observed. Morning Events: 9:00am – 12:00nnAfternoon Events: 12:00nn – 3:00pmor Mid Day: 9:00am – 2:00pmWe are open Mondays Fridays, sometimes Sundays, except Saturdays.
