What We’re Looking For We’re seeking an accomplished commercial leader, someone with the vision, creativity, and strategic edge to promote HQ Group’s portfolio of iconic hospitality venues. The ideal candidate is a commercially driven brand strategist and sales leader, confident setting vision as well as driving on‑ground execution. You’re passionate about hospitality, skilled in influencing brand performance, and motivated by tangible results — increased revenue, guest satisfaction and market growth. The Role As the Head of Sales & Marketing , you’ll report directly to the CEO. You’ll own the overarching commercial and marketing strategy for HQ Group, shape brand direction for our existing venues and those in the pipeline. Working in a fast‑paced environment, your leadership will directly influence revenue, profitability, and brand equity. You’ll guide and foster collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Managers, ensuring alignment across strategy, execution, and performance to drive commercial success. Key Focuses Crafting and executing the group’s annual sales and marketing strategy to deliver growth, profitability, and brand strength. Strategically manage and leverage supplier partnerships and funding to maximise brand impact and commercial returns. Ensure a cohesive, seamless guest experience across all venues by integrating sales and marketing strategies that drive engagement, loyalty, and spend. Leading large‑scale activations, events and openings that define Melbourne’s hospitality scene including the Australian Open, Grand Prix, the Melbourne Fashion Festival to name a few. Manage budgets, performance reporting, and ROI data analysis across all marketing and sales functions. Coach and develop the Sales and Marketing teams to foster creativity, accountability, and high performance. Act as a brand ambassador, championing HQ Group within the industry and beyond. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and brand guidelines. Develop long term commercial strategy in collaboration with the CEO and Directors. Report on KPI’s and performance metrics to the CEO. Experience We Require From You 10 years of related marketing and sales experience, ideally in the hospitality, retail or lifestyle brands. Outstanding verbal and written communication and project leadership skills. Demonstrated success in driving commercial growth — revenue, EBITDA, and brand performance. Strategic thinking and creative flair, backed by analytical and financial acumen. Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills, comfortable engaging at executive level and with industry partners.
