We’re looking for a Senior IT Officer to join the team on an initial 6‑month contract, with a strong potential to transition into a permanent role. Working either on‑site in Broken Hill (with accommodation support provided) or on a FIFO roster, you’ll take ownership of IT operations across desktop support, systems administration, and network infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable and secure IT services across a complex operational environment – from on‑prem systems to cloud‑based technologies – while being the main point of contact for all IT matters across the business. Key Responsibilities Managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and cloud services Providing advanced technical support across desktop, system, and network environments Overseeing IT security, including firewall and antivirus management Monitoring performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving preventative measures Managing vendors and service providers to ensure high‑quality IT delivery About You You’re a hands‑on IT professional with supporting both on‑premise and cloud environments, ideally within complex or remote operational settings. You take pride in solving problems quickly, keeping systems running smoothly, and providing clear communication to stakeholders at all levels. You’ll Bring Proven experience across desktop support, systems, and network administration Strong technical understanding of cloud platforms and infrastructure Knowledge of IT security tools and practices Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset FIFO experience within mining or resources will be highly regarded, but not essential.
