Senior Region Advisor

Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers – Townsville QLD Build and maintain cohesive and functional relationships across Local Government Division. Maintain advanced knowledge and understanding of the local government sector, including legislative framework, in order to build council capability and provide advice to and from the Department on a range of matters (including Council statutory obligations, governance, project management and financial sustainability issues). Work with Councils to ensure grants projects are delivered on time and within the approved scope; and provide accurate and timely reporting into the Department's grants management systems to ensure effective project monitoring. Develop positive and professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients across the local government sector. Prepare written material (including outgoing correspondence, briefs and reports) to advise stakeholders and make recommendations on key issues. Demonstrate positive influence as a Senior Advisor by providing direction, mentoring and support to other advisors and promoting continuous improvement processes, cross-agency and cross-council collaboration.
