Experienced Metal Worker – Fine Detail Fabrication Company: Identity Furniture Location: Pakenham Job Type: Full-time About the Opportunity Identity Furniture, a leading Australian manufacturer of bespoke furniture, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Metal Worker to join our team. We are looking for a craftsperson who takes immense pride in their work and has a passion for producing high-quality, detailed metalwork. This is a role for a fabricator who excels in precision and finesse, not heavy structural steel. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding a variety of metals, including stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium, to create custom furniture pieces for high-profile venues across Australia. If you have a keen eye for detail and a proven background in fine fabrication, we want to hear from you. Please note: This position is focused on intricate and detailed fabrication. Experience limited to heavy fabrication, such as in the mining or heavy construction or truck industries, will not be suitable for this role. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium. Prepare stock material for fabrication, cut, drill, fold and roll etc. Read and interpret detailed shop drawings and specifications to produce precise and accurate work. Fabricate and assemble components for high-end furniture and architectural pieces. Ensure all work meets our exacting standards for quality and finish. Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment. Skills and Experience Proven experience as a metal fabricator with a strong focus on fine detail work. Expertise in both TIG and MIG welding techniques across a range of materials with a demonstrated ability to produce clean, high-quality welds and finishes. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings. A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Experience mentoring of other staff and juniors would be advantageous. Forklift ticket.
