Senior Executive Officer – Queensland Government We are looking for an Executive Officer with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast‑paced and often changing work environment. The Department The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) drives sustainable growth across Queensland, managing water resources responsibly and empowering councils to support and grow communities. With over 700 professionals across Brisbane and regional offices, we ensure Queensland’s communities, businesses, and water resources thrive. The Role Join the Strategic Policy and Partnerships branch—a team delivering outcomes for Queensland through water policy and partnerships, water investments, legislation and reform, and volunteer engagement. In this role, you will provide critical business operations and strategic support to the Executive Director and branch Directors. Key Accountabilities Prepare and coordinate submissions, briefing papers, correspondence, and reports on operational, budgetary, financial, and HR activities. Provide high‑level executive, administrative, HR, financial, and operational services and advice to the Executive Director and management team. Coordinate business operations including strategic planning, governance, staff development, and resource management. Lead planning and reporting processes including Service Delivery Statements, Annual Reports, and Estimates Committee briefings. Manage sensitive issues and ensure timely resolution. Build and maintain effective relationships across the department and with external stakeholders. Lead and mentor staff to deliver high‑quality integrated services and continuous improvement. About You Strategic thinker with strong leadership and organisational skills. Demonstrates emotional intelligence and thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Experience with MECS, Aurion, SAP, Tableau, or Power BI (highly regarded). Ability to manage multiple projects and engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
