Applications are sought for the following position: Industry Liasion Officer / VET Coordinator As the Industry Liaison Officer / VET Coordinator, you will assist in the ongoing delivery of the School Based Trainee/Apprenticeship program and assist in managing business and industry partnerships to maximise opportunities for secondary students. Full Time (Term Time) Position - Monday to Friday, at our Pimpama Campus. The ideal candidate will be: Organised and detail-oriented , with the ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines. An excellent communicator , able to build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and external training providers. Student-focused , passionate about guiding young people towards meaningful vocational pathways. Adaptable and resourceful , able to respond to changing requirements and challenges with practical solutions. Collaborative , working effectively with teaching teams, careers advisors, and leadership to deliver quality outcomes. Knowledgeable in compliance requirements , particularly in relation to RTO standards and school-based apprenticeships/traineeships. Qualified - Hold at least a Certificate IV in Career Development (major advantage) or have demonstrated experience. Key Responsibilities You will have responsibility for leading the following activities that include, but are not limited to: Sourcing Australian School Based Trainee/Apprenticeships (ASBA) opportunities when needed for prospective students by actively seeking opportunities for student placements in industry and potential School Based Apprenticeships. Developing and maintaining relationships with employers, training providers and apprenticeship support agencies. Form connections and develop partnerships between school and employers that will assist students to transition to employment and make effective career choices. Source vocational training opportunities for prospective students by actively seeking opportunities for student placement in transition to work programs. Monitor student progress in VET programs in the classroom environment by ensuring they are on task in the lesson. Liaise with trainers to cross-check student progress and to organise trainer visits/sessions to ensure students have an understanding of course content. Assist students where necessary with unpacking course content if they do not understand the task. Provide regular updates of the program outcomes and help identify issues that may impact on the success of the program. Develop and manage the work experience placement program, including monitoring students in the workplace, arranging visits where required and managing the preparation, collection and storage of records and data as required by policy. Be involved where required in the preparation and presentation of information sessions. Develop and maintain effective relationships within and beyond the school community. Articulate legislation, policies and procedures governing apprenticeships and traineeships to internal and external clients.
