About The Role Working with the Oceania Operations team, you will lead the Tour Staff team – including CEOs, Tour Leaders, and Expedition Leaders – and drive success, growth, and engagement of staff on the road. What You'll Be Doing Leadership & Engagement Act as an ambassador and role model of G Adventures core values. Maintain engagement among Tour Staff and between the local office and G Adventures globally. Lead regional engagement initiatives and support special projects connecting with True Believers. Serve as the first point of contact for business queries related to tour staff management. Provide regular updates to Ops leadership on projects, engagement, performance, challenges, and opportunities. Foster positive relationships with DMCs, vehicle suppliers, and Operations. Recruitment & Training Manage the full recruitment process, including anticipating needs, reviewing applications, interviewing, and onboarding. Oversee Tour Staff Training programs: Forums, Wanderer programs, National Geographic Journeys, and other specialized training. Plan and monitor ongoing training requirements and develop resources and a regional Tour Staff Resource Website. Performance Management Support ROM with regular Tour Staff performance reviews, including 1‑on‑1 reviews and reporting. Provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback to develop leadership capacity. Act as a conduit between Tour Staff, local office and the Base Camp team. Review traveller evaluations and act on Tour Staff comments and scores. Manage the Tour Staff Code of Conduct database and communication of performance actions. Administration Oversee onboarding duties, contract signing, roster management, and pre/post‑trip briefings. Coordinate distribution of ties, cards, and swag. Manage optional activity sales, relocation travel, and systems troubleshooting. Provide technology team with system improvement feedback. Financial Assist ROM with budgeting, on‑tour finance submissions, and payroll process understanding. Collect and resolve budget discrepancies; support remuneration reviews and policy updates. Oversee distribution of commissions from optional activity sales. Support for Travellers / CIM Coordinate ground support and critical incident management during trips. Handle complaint resolution and emergency notifications. Carry the after‑hours Oceania emergency phone on rotation. What You'll Need To Be Successful 2+ years of tourism industry experience. Tour leader or people‑leadership experience (preferred). Willingness to travel and train as needed. Reliable phone and Wi‑Fi connectivity. Familiarity with Australia and New Zealand geography. Exceptional customer service and communication; proficiency in Google Suite. Strong office administration, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
