The Team: Set near a picturesque Tasmanian coastline, the North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160‑bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive The NWRH Theatre: The NWRH Theatre is a vibrant, supportive team consisting of four operating theatres providing Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, ENT, Endoscopy and Dental services. NWRH Theatre is committed to a positive workplace culture, and excellent clinical care within a supportive environment. Standard working hours are a variety of shifts between the hours of 0700 and 2230 seven days a week, with the ability to offer flexible working arrangements, and on call service overnight. NWRH Theatres have a dedicated leadership and education team to support all learning and development needs The Role: Associate nurse unit managers provide clear leadership, and support to the nurse unit manager. Permanent and temp ANUM hours will be responsible for the Scrub Scout portfolio. Further Temp hours will be responsible for the Endoscopy portfolio. We are looking for passionate nurses who deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. It is expected that within the dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to a strong professional team approach through open communication and a positive supportive environment. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will contribute to the health outcomes of your patients through excellence in practice, fostering a learning culture, excellent communication skills and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. These roles require scrub scout and endoscopy experience as essential. Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 22.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date Multiple fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date until 25 September 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate Professional development and accelerated pathways.
