We are now seeking a hands‑on, people‑focused HSE Business Partner to support our project teams and strengthen the way we work across the business. It’s a pivotal time to join Star Group as our HSE Strategy is changing and systems are maturing. Our leaders are eager for the guidance and partnership of strong HSE professionals. Reporting directly to the Head of HSEQ, this role will play a key part in uplifting HSE across all divisions. Industries We Work Across Star Group’s projects span a broad range of industries and sectors, giving you exposure to diverse risk profiles, client types and work environments: Commercial High‑rise towers, offices, mixed‑use developments Large‑scale residential & hotels Retail precincts and shopping centres Critical Infrastructure Data centres (hyperscale, enterprise, secure facilities) Utilities, substations, networks Transport (road, rail, tunnels, bridges) Water & treatment plants Community Defence sites and restricted‑access installations Education (universities, TAFEs, schools, research facilities) Government buildings and civic precincts Health (hospitals, medical campuses, clinical environments) How We Deliver This Work Construction – Full electrical and communications installations on large, complex building projects. Engineering & Infrastructure – Electrical, controls and communications across major transport and utility networks. Electrical Services – Maintenance and upgrades of critical assets through reactive, planned and long‑term contracts. Communications, Data & Audio‑Visual – Structured cabling, fibre networks and AV system integration. SE Distribution – Warehousing, logistics and light workshop assembly to support project delivery. Key Responsibilities Build trusted relationships across divisions and provide practical HSE support through coaching, site walks and daily interactions that strengthen capability and safe decisions. Partner with divisional leaders and the Head of HSEQ to shape the HSE strategy and division‑specific execution plans. Support high‑risk work planning by verifying hazards, electrical controls, commissioning steps and work sequencing. Lead incident response as first contact, manage notifications, support investigations, track corrective actions and reinforce lessons learned. Assist workers’ compensation by supporting injured workers early, coordinating with leaders and ensuring safe, sustainable return‑to‑work plans. Deliver or support HSE training and inductions, including onboarding, refreshers and helping workers understand critical risks and expectations. Improve HSE systems by refining SWMS, updating processes and simplifying documents to reflect real onsite work. Deliver assurance activities—inspections, verification checks and internal audits—aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and NHVAS. Qualifications & Experience Minimum five years’ experience in a similar HSE role within construction, electrical services, manufacturing, logistics or related high‑risk work environments Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) ICAM and Lead Auditor qualifications (desired) Strong communication and relationship‑building skills Confidence working independently across diverse operational settings What We Offer Competitive salary, including an additional 12 days of leisure and well‑being leave per year.
