The Opportunity Delaware North Australia is hiring casual Pastry Commis Chef(s) to join our team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will collaborate with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression, working in a high-volume production setting. Prepare a range of dishes in a high-volume production setting Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards, and cook and prepare high-quality pastry menu items including buffet, events, plated desserts and retail Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross-contamination More About You Previous experience as a Pastry Chef is required, and proven experience in an à la carte restaurant or function service is preferred Solid background in kitchen operations Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs Valid Working With Children Check (employee version) is mandatory for all staff Application Period The application period will close on 17/11/2025, unless sufficient qualified candidates are identified sooner.
