As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior chefs to create dishes that make a lasting impression. As the largest sporting stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, with a capacity of over 100,000, the MCG is renowned for hosting Australian Football League (AFL) games, international cricket matches, world‑class concerts, and exclusive events. Prepare a range of dishes in a high‑volume production setting Follow recipes for menu preparation, ensuring adherence to cooking guidelines and standards as well as cooking and prepare high quality pastry menu items including buffet, events, plated desserts & retail Execute food preparation tasks, showcasing expertise in food presentation Maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area Ensure HACCP and WHS compliance, displaying a strong commitment to meeting Food Safety standards including conducting temperature and quality checks and effectively managing cross‑contamination More about you Previous experience as a Pastry Chef is required and proven experience in an a' la carte restaurant or function service is preferred Solid background in kitchen operations Minimum Level 3 Certificate in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety certificate, or willing to obtain at onboarding Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs The application period will close on 17/11/2025, unless sufficient qualified candidates are identified sooner.
