Principal Communications Officer – Infrastructure Services Division Permanent position in the Queensland Department of Education’s Infrastructure Services Division. The role requires an experienced communicator who can produce well‑considered proactive and reactive stakeholder communications, identify key and contentious issues, and operate within tight timeframes and multiple stakeholder groups. About the Opportunity The Communications and Engagement team works with real people and seeks a professional who can deliver accurate proactive and reactive communications, lead within the team, and promote the critical work of the division. You will help shape the community’s understanding of the importance of great infrastructure and its impact on educational outcomes. Key Responsibilities Obtain and maintain the confidence and support of internal and external stakeholders by ensuring the delivery of professional, contemporary, accurate and responsive communications and stakeholder engagement strategy and recommendations. Work effectively in a high‑pressure environment, under tight deadlines and with limited resources. Provide internal consultancy and communication advice to executive members and teams, ensuring consistency of key messages in a format, style and tone appropriate to the situation and audience. Develop corporate communications and engagement strategies to enhance and protect the reputation of the Department of Education and the Infrastructure Services Division with stakeholders and the public. Pitch in with the multi‑disciplinary communications team when needed to support overall communications objectives.
