Design & Estimating Manager - Ground Engineering / Piling Join a growing civil & ground-engineering contractor and take ownership of design, methodology and tendering across major piling, excavation, and basement projects. Our client is expanding their engineering and delivery capability and seeking an experienced Design & Estimating Manager to lead the technical and bid function. This role suits a hands‑on geotechnical or structural design engineer (RPEQ) who enjoys both detailed design and the commercial side of winning work. If you want to shape an emerging team, own the design process, and influence major SEQ projects, this is the role. The Role Lead design, pricing and technical governance for piling, retention systems, foundations and ground-engineering tenders Produce and certify geotechnical/structural designs, reports, and calculations Develop methodologies, temporary works, and value‑engineering solutions Manage tender programs, risk reviews, and bid strategy Support project teams with constructability and design clarifications Mentor a junior engineer/estimator (with scope to grow the team) Ensure compliance with relevant geotechnical/structural codes and standards What You'll Need RPEQ (Geotechnical and/or Structural) or near‑term eligibility Strong design background in piling, retention, foundations, or ground engineering Experience in tendering or estimating within a contractor or D&C environment Ability to interpret geotech investigations and produce practical, buildable solutions Proficiency with design tools such as WALLAP, L-Pile, Plaxis, Slope/W and RC design software Strong communication and technical writing skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
