We are seeking a security-cleared professional in Melbourne to bridge the gap between product strategy and technical execution for critical national telecommunications projects. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly inform product prioritisation and the technical feasibility of complex solutions. The Opportunity: Solution Designer (Product Alignment) We are looking for a highly skilled individual with a strong Telecommunications (Telco) background to align product strategy with technical feasibility and execution. This role requires a deep understanding of network technology, system interfaces, and the ability to drive products from initial concept through to the development phase. Key Responsibilities Product Feasibility & Strategy: Act as the technical authority to assess the viability of new products, especially those from international markets. Product Prioritisation: Analyze the existing portfolio, identifying and advising on which products are performing well versus those that are not, to maximise business value and focus development efforts. Design to Development Handoff: Serve as the critical link, working directly with development teams to translate product requirements into technical specifications, ensuring proposed functionality is robust and achievable. Network Technology Expertise: Utilise a strong Network Technology background to inform and validate design decisions, understanding the underlying network infrastructure and its constraints. System & Data Interfaces: Define, design, and document complex system and data interfaces required for successful product integration and delivery. Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engage with a diverse group of stakeholders, including Product Owners, Architects, and Development Leads, to manage expectations, gather requirements, and communicate design choices effectively. Essential Skills & Experience Mandatory: NV1 (Negative Vetting 1) Australian Security Clearance is required to be considered for this role. Mandatory: Strong and proven Telecommunications (Telco) background. In-depth working knowledge of product lifecycle management and technical feasibility analysis. Demonstrated experience working closely with development/engineering teams to deliver functionality from a Solution Design. Expertise in designing and documenting system and data integration interfaces. Relevant tertiary qualifications (IT, Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent industry experience.
