To help achieve this mission, Toast is expanding into new countries and markets and so we are currently seeking an Account Executive to serve as a founding member of our Australian team. As a founding Account Executive, you will have the opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up, prospect, build relationships, and sign up new restaurateurs in your local area. By understanding their unique needs, you will develop a customized solution that helps Sydney businesses thrive. Your work will have an immediate and lasting impact, requiring a blend of operational sales expertise and an entrepreneurial mindset. As the cornerstone of this function in the region, you will collaborate closely with the RVP and other stakeholders to lay the foundation for sustainable success in the Sydney region. The role offers autonomy, the chance to navigate ambiguity, and the opportunity to create frameworks, processes, and initiatives that will define the region’s growth for years to come. NOTE: This is a field sales opportunity. Candidates must live locally to Sydney, Australia or be willing to relocate. Responsibilities Generate a list of prospective restaurants and manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting, initial call to close (experience with self‑sourcing clients is a huge plus). Conduct demos and develop a solution that best meets the prospect’s needs. Partner with teams across the business to ensure that expectations set during the sales process are met in delivery. Leverage Salesforce (our CRM) to manage all sales activities. Understand the competitive landscape and determine how to best position Toast in the market. Requirements 2+ years experience in a sourcing or closing sales role, restaurant operations, or a relatable field and industry. Founder mentality to work on 0-1 deals and ability (and enjoyment) to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced and new environment. Since this is a field position, you must have reliable transportation (we will reimburse for mileage). Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to sell and negotiate at all decision‑making levels. Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding goals. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, and team environment. Self‑motivated, creative, and flexible. General technical proficiency with software.
