TasPorts | WORK180 Endorsed Employer The role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will support the Compliance Manager in implementing and enhancing TasPorts' Compliance Framework. You will play a key part in embedding a strong compliance culture across the organisation by conducting operational audits, identifying compliance risks, and assisting with mitigation strategies. This position involves close collaboration with operational teams to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements. Key Duties Conduct routine audits across TasPorts operations to assess compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies. Document audit findings, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions. Monitor implementation of corrective actions and report progress to the Compliance Manager. Assist in developing and improving compliance frameworks, tools, templates, and procedures. Maintain compliance registers, dashboards, and reporting tools. Identify and assess compliance risks and support operational teams with mitigation strategies. Deliver compliance training and workshops to staff and promote awareness of compliance obligations. Prepare compliance reports for internal stakeholders and provide guidance on compliance queries. About you You are highly organised, analytical, and committed to fostering a culture of compliance. You have strong communication skills and can work independently while building effective relationships across diverse teams. You thrive in a dynamic environment and have a keen eye for detail and quality outcomes. What you will have Experience in compliance, auditing, or risk management within a complex operational environment. Knowledge of compliance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and governance practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to prepare and maintain compliance documentation, registers, and reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Familiarity with compliance management software or GRC platforms (desirable). Familiarity with maritime compliance requirements (desirable). Ability to undertake routine travel to various business locations state-wide. Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in compliance management or related field. Current driver's licence. Capability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC). Where to next?
