Financial Management Business Partner Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to over 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. About the Position The Financial Management Business Partner is key to Snowy’s ongoing success. Partnering with stakeholders at all levels to identify savings and driving opportunities, this position will allow you to work across a wide portfolio and provide high quality oversight, insight, and foresight into business expenditure. Key Responsibilities Partner with stakeholders ranging from cost centre owners to senior executives. Maintain and review finance structures, systems, processes and cost controls on an ongoing basis. Provide financial advice and guidance to leaders through education on the budgeting system, processes and associated obligations. Ensure high quality governance in forecasting, reporting and analysis of key operating expenditure variables. Mentor and develop other team members to optimise their contribution to the team. Monitor operating expenditure accounting activities to ensure compliance with relevant AASB standards. Coordinate, facilitate, interrogate, analyse, challenge and upload operating expenditure budgets and forecasts. Recommend changes and improvements to processes and practices, particularly in relation to General Ledger use. About You Senior member of a finance team with experience. CPA/CA qualified. Demonstrated ability to liaise and direct a wide range of stakeholders at all levels and tailor your approach accordingly. Familiarity with Electricity Generation & Markets is beneficial but not essential. Experience with cost management and analysis software such as CPM. Big 4 exposure/history viewed favourably. Significant knowledge of category management techniques. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions/recommendations based on accurate & timely analysis. Desire to share knowledge and expertise with team members and the wider Finance team. Location Ideally based in Sydney. Candidates from Melbourne will also be considered.
